President’s message
We are a young and fast growing club, affiliated to Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland and a part of the National Association of Soroptimist International, India. We have undertaken a lot of projects aligned to the overall SI strategies through direct involvement with the people we are working with or through indirect involvement with the NGOs and other organizations working in the field.
The overall mission of SI is as follows :
Soroptimist International, a worldwide organization for women in management and the professions, is a global voice for women through Awareness, Advocacy and Action.
Through International Goodwill and Understanding, and Friendship, Soroptimists strive for:
- advancement of the status of women
- high ethical standards
- human rights for all
- equality, development and peace
The 2007-2011 SI Programme Focus goals are outlined below :
- Enjoy equity and equality
- Live in safe and healthy environments
- Have access to education
- Have leadership and practical skills.
We would like to welcome one and all to work with us towards these goals , either by becoming members of SI, Bangalore or contributing to the projects we undertake both through funds and direct or indirect participation, networking to help the needy connect to the contributors, etc.
